Celestialbody Tracking
Workshop at Gaîté Lyrique, Paris, France, 2014
CelestialBodyTracking is a workshop that enables you to perceive your
personal favorite celestial body like stars, planets, probes, space junk
etc. With the help of mobile devices and an echo-like sound, the
position of the individual celestial body can be tracked in real-time.
The workshop covers basic programming using Python's pyephem library to
obtain the various data formats from different celestial bodies.
Furthermore a simple website on the basis of Webaudio API will be
provided to read the sensor data of the mobile device and sonify it
correspondingly to movements in relation to the actual position of the
celestial body. The Participant are invited to bring their mobile
devices and computers.
The workshop was held in September 2014 at la Gaîté Lyrique in Paris as part of the 'mal au pixel' festival.
